West African Dance and Yoga

With over 30 years experience in West African dance, Lisa has had the privilege of studying with renowned master teachers from Senegal, Mali, Ivory Coast, and Guinea, including Youssouf Koumbassa, Marie Basse Wiles, Djeneba Sako and Malang Bayo.
For 12 years she taught and performed West African dance in Southern California and had the honor of performing with the master drummers, Mamady Keita and Monette Keita, in San Diego. She also attended Camp Fareta for many years to study traditional West African rhythms and dance.

Lisa has also been practicing yoga for the past 25 years and teaching for the past 20. She studied synergy yoga in Southern California for ten years and most recently got re-certified at Asheville Community Yoga, where she has received further accreditation through a twelve week Chakra intensive study.
She has taught Liberation Through Movement and Dance at Soul Nature Healing Arts in Tiger, Georgia and is currently offering hatha and vinyasa yoga at Your Time Fitness and Clayton Health and Fitness.
She also co-leads a weekly meditation group and monthly drum circle at the Wayfarer’s Chapel in Dillard, Georgia.

Lisa co-led yoga, West African dance, expressive arts, hiking , horseback riding, snorkeling and wildlife watching retreats which included the exploration of local ecology around the dunes and the Sea of Cortez.
Quinta Camarena
Alentejo, Portugal
Lisa organized a retreat exploring the ecology and sampling the local foods and wines of the Alentejo region. This included yoga, hiking and horseback riding, wine tasting and pairing, and visiting local artisans at a family-owned local winery with sustainable wine growing practices.
